yes best water for it check to see what’s in your ground water first. (just start w/the factories in your area.)
Hard water contains elements necessary for plant life.
Years ago my garden flourished using well water. It was my best garden ever! We didn’t have a water softener either. In fact, we had city water that we used for drinking, bathing etc. We only used the well water for outside use, such as, washing cars, cleaning the deck, watering the garden, watering the outside dogs etc. I have moved since then and really wish I still had well water along with city water. Hope I have helped you.
It shouldn’t hurt the plants.
I worked in a nursery with similar water. Two things to be aware of: regular overhead watering may leave a rusty coating on the plant, and in drip watering, the tiny holes may plug with rust. So if you’re not hand-watering, check your equipment occasionally. There are cleaners you can use to clean nozzles, etc.
