i should be the 1 thanking you bcuz your problem made me look at my bonsai and i just saw aphids on it but saddly all the leaves are gone so im gonna try to look if i can still save it
so i can just say shave a bunch of bark from a pine tree crush it up to a grit mix it with regular potting soil and use it as bonsai soil
i think the reason your bonsai has not died from being water logged is cuz pine trees have such a large tap root
You don`t know anything
a bonsai tree with a doodle bug pit is the coolest thing i’ve ever heard of. what’s your doodle bug pit made of?
thanks for vid’s
your an idiot hes making a bonsia tree he didnt say it was a bonsia already this guy most likly knows more than you so just be quiet you know nothing
IM going to plant one in my doodle bug pit
nice
ive been using regular miracle grow potting soil and my bonsai has grown 2 inches in 6 months from it but i only water mine once a week like the booklet it came with says to do mine is a pine bonsai and i would like to know if i transplant it from my small pot to a bigger pot will it grow bigger i would like to put it in the corner of my outdoor patio room but it needs to grow to be about 4 ft is their anyway i can do this? and how fast do bonsai trees grow?
Yeah i think IthacaGT…apparently being a “enthusiast/artis” would understand what this guy is trying to demonstrate…sheesh!
i kno what you mean but in the other vid thats the tree he was using to demonstrate how to start one
Any true bonsai enthusiast/artist knows that this is by NO means a bonsai at all!! Bonsai take years and years to train and prune. You can’t just take a shrub, prune it, cut the roots, and repot and call it a bonsai. This is like saying put some paint on a blank canvas and call it a Monet. Please, do some research and find out what it really takes to develop a bonsai.
that reminds me. I need to go to my local Homedepot and purchase a Bonsai…lol
they burn beautifully
Thanks everyone for the advice! I’m
going to buy one soon. Wish me luck!
you can buy them from garden centers,BUT DONT,best to get them from a proper nursery, there’s normally one in every town, you can pick up a good quality bonsai for about 30 to 40 euros, happy hunting
id use the bonsai soil to be safe
Join a nearby bonsai club. They’ll give you to information that you need to go out to the local garden center and make your own bonsai from a $15 shrub.
do i relly need to get that soil or can i use regular poting soil?
one that size would cost you about 70 dollars. You could find them in chinatown , well thats where ive seen them.
Yeah, I heard that Home Depot has some. I guess that would be the best option for a beginner like me. Thanks!
You can buy specialized bonsai soil but you can also make do with a mixture of potting soil and perlite which you can get at most gardening centers.
I found some bonsai trees for about $20-$60 each at Home Depot. But as this video shows you, bonsai are just regular trees that are pruned to keep them small. Many small junipers, elms, and ficus trees are suitable to become bonsai. As far as maintenance, watch the other videos from this guy and you should know what you need to get started.
Your local nursery or local bonsai shop would be a good place to start.
I’d suggest a bonsai shop (seach on net for the addy), they can give you whole heaps of professional advice as different bonsai requires diff maintenance.
About PRICE!!!!!!!!!!
They can range from $10 – $ 20,000 easy, so it will depend on how much you want to spend.
Good luck
